Far East Advance Plastics Corporation (FEAPC) Plant in Carmona, is a world-class factory that envisions producing engineered plastics building materials that will build a better and more durable infrastructure for the country. The plant is house to FEAPC’s pride products, the Durapipe, Durawall, and Duraroof.
Last October 8, our salesmen got a glimpse of the new product, Durapipe, and were familiarized with the processes, machines, and equipment involved in its production. This will equip them with the right information they can share when they talk to prospected clients.
The salesmen got introduced to some details and background about the FEAPC plant, its location, and the available facilities. This was followed by the orientation about some safety protocols.
The Product Manager handling Durapipe is Mr. Oswald S. Gabaleño. Durapipe offers developers, infrastructure planners, and contractors a better and cost-effective alternative to RCP (Reinforced Concrete Pipe) for sanitary and stormwater systems across the country.
Advantages of the Durepipe
Durapipe offers the following advantages for stakeholders:
1. 100 Years Design Life – Due to being chemically inert, Durapipe does not break or react even when exposed to acids and bases reducing maintenance and replacements costs.
2. Low Total Installed Costs– Durapipe comes in lengths of 6 meters and requires less jointing vs traditional RCP saving time and costs for contractors and developers
3. Leak Proof – Durapipe is jointed through electrofusion welding, all pipes are integrated with electrofusion wire in their socket. The fused joint becomes a homogeneous material and will not leak even when subject to hard abuse
4. Complete Product Sizes– We offer the largest locally produced pipe in the market, up to 3000MM in diameter. Can cater for all types of project requirements
5. Tough Material– Durapipe is five times more abrasion resistant than concrete and is crack resistant
Plant Production Process
Now, we introduce you to the Plant Production Process which starts with the introduction of machines and processes. Below are some photos of the production process of PP plus the heating process.
Quality Control and Testing
Now, we demonstrate the Quality Control procedures which are done through the Universal Testing Machine that tests the stiffness of the Durapipe ring.
This stiffness quality makes our Durapipe flexible thus enabling them to withstand any external pressure from earthquakes or heavy vehicles like trucks regularly passing by the roads. As a result, the pipes do not suffer from crack and damage, a problem experienced with the Reinforced Concrete Pipes.
Electrofusion
On the right shows the process of jointing the Pipes. This jointing method is called electrofusion welding, All pipes are integrated with electrofusion wire in their socket. The fused joint becomes a homogeneous material and will not leak even when subjected to hard abuse. This process makes the Durapipe Leak-Proof, an advantage that is lacking in the Reinforced Concrete Pipes.
